ABOUT THE ARTIST
Anthony D'Orsay Jones' interests in art started at the
age of 12. He was awarded the Hallmark Award for Fine Art when he graduated from Salpointe
High School in 1967.
While serving two tours in Vietnam with the 71st Assault
Helicopter Company, he was commissioned to paint "nose art" on the helicopters,
helmets and anything else that was required. Even spent brass shells were painted and
turned into D'Orsay originals coveted by many an airman.
Memories from Vietnam haunted D'Orsay.
After a twenty-five year absence, D'Orsay finished his
degree in Fine Art, expanding his experience with computers, clay, metal sculpture, as
well as lithography, video, oils and acrylic mediums.
D'Orsay studied under the late Bruce McGrew, John Law
Walker, Jim Davis, Bailey Dugan, Bishop, Polk and Heric. His work is shown in
Scottsdale, Arizona; Breckenridge, Colorado; and New York, New York.
